Halodoc Business Model
Halodoc’s primary focus is to connect people with verified healthcare professionals who can assess their health issues and give them the best medical assistance and advice. There are multiple options provided within the app that makes it easy to communicate with doctors. It can be done with the help of video calls, voice calls, live chat, or messaging. The patients can submit their old medical reports to be viewed by the live doctor and based on that medical help is provided.
Regarding their fee structure, Halodoc receives a share of doctor consultation fees. The average consultation time is up to 15 minutes where users/patients are charged IDR 35,000 per session.
Halodoc, on its way to make a more reliable and efficient healthcare system in Indonesia, uses Artificial Intelligence to receive continuous feedback about the system to improve gradually. With the help of Google’s Late Stage Accelerator, they made a team of doctors, data scientists, engineers, product managers, and researchers to determine how technology could support Indonesian doctors’ work. This helps junior doctors or interns to get feedback from Senior and expert medical professionals that help them learn more and help at the time of emergency situations like the COVID pandemic.
In order to generate the quality performance of doctors, the Halodoc app when used by the doctors, allows them to see their response time and quality index metrics, along with suggested actions on how they can improve their consultation quality. Based on that, they can request further input and consultation from more senior doctors.
This Artificial intelligence mechanism and feature helped them in two ways;
- it improved their app ratings from 4.5 to 4.8 stars within six months
- Overall doctors’ scores improved by 64%
