A Way With Words, a story-centred platform founded by Felicity Lenehan, a journalist who became the life-story specialist, helps individuals capture, preserve, and share their life stories. The site offers a range of personalised services: ghostwriting, life story coaching, life story kits, mobile tools, and mental health workshops—all coming together on one great platform that blends creative expression with memory preservation and therapeutic storytelling. Felicity's robust Instagram presence (@awaywithwordsfelicitylenehan) supports an ecosystem of healing, legacy building, and connection through story.

The Problem Statement

People really do value the universal practice of personal storytelling. However, writing one’s life story seems almost an impossible task for most individuals. Often, people do not tell their stories for various reasons, including lack of time, self-doubt, emotional blocks, or even lack of a clue about where to begin. Also, in mental healthcare spaces, young people, seniors, and trauma survivors frequently lack safe, organised creative outlets for processing the events of their lives. There was an evident gap for an accessible healing and sustainable digital-first solution to storytelling.

The Challenge

The dilemma was twofold. 

  1. Digital Empowerment of Storytelling: How do you take such an intimate and analogue activity as writing a life story and completely digitalise it for naturalness without losing authenticity or emotional depth for a brand?
  2. Multi-Audience Convergence: The platform must get populated with everyone from the retired citizens who would like to preserve their legacy to young adults who use writing as their therapy to families who wish to be part of the memory of a loved one. 

Additionally, the brand needed to adopt a single voice across platforms, such as storytelling reels on Instagram, podcast sound bites, workshops, and product offerings, into one seamless and intuitive website.

The Solution

We have created an immersive online experience to the fullest extent in accordance with the very spirit of Felicity’s mission: a responsive, emotionally engaging website that walks users through service options, from ghostwriting and mentorship to community workshops and therapeutic programs.

 

  • A toolkit for storytelling and going online, this will enable users to write and upload stories in manageable, guided steps – appealing to both the technology-savvy individual and the digital outlander.
  • Cohesive brand storytelling across Instagram and the site, allows Reels, podcast snippets, and testimonials to loop users back to action – whether it’s booking a session, purchasing a kit, or joining a writing circle. 
  • Community-scale features include course registration, downloadable resources, and virtual support groups for sharing and validating stories. 

A way with words does not merely constitute a website that extends compassion to user-centred design and powerful copy; it has become a movement – one story at a time.
