The BlackPatch was created to eliminate the friction and frustration associated with Apple device repairs. In a highly stagnant market of service centres and diagnostics that lacked transparent pricing before testing the device, and where all forms of inconvenience existed for the user, any little power they had was drained from them.

The Problem Statement

Consumers are increasingly asking for convenient, reliable, and transparent repair of Apple devices. Customers find traditional service centres to involve long waiting periods, inconvenient travel, a lack of repair transparency, and expenses they are unwilling to incur. Users are also worried about data security and whether any warranties are provided post-repair.

The Challenge

Black Patch aims to establish an environment of disrupted repair services in Mexico by providing home-based repair services for Apple products through a technician-involved mobile-first approach. This aim was to eliminate frictions in a repair process and create trust among customers who cannot live without their devices. 

Nevertheless, there were very solid technical and strategic challenges to creating a completely seamless, scalable, and secure experience:

  • Building a high-performing iOS/macOS app ecosystem
  • Designing live repair tracking and cost estimation tools
  • Integrating secure payment options with appointments scheduling
  • Maintaining a premium brand feel with reliability, privacy, and support
  • Real-time management of technician visits and inventory logistics

The Solution

Esferasoft’s role in collaborating with the Black Patch team was to literally bring the dream to life. Our solution brought thoughtful UX design matched with robust backend architecture and state-of-the-art mobile app development and streamed an entirely new repair experience:

 

  • Cross-platform mobile and desktop apps with smooth UI/UX
  • Inbuilt model-wise diagnosis flow with live estimates
  • Technician scheduling with live map tracking
  • PCI-compliant integration with Stripe for payments
  • Automated notification and generation of invoices and warranties for repairs
  • Admin dashboards for operations and technicians

 

Together, we transformed it to be a premium, on-demand repair platform that allows users to own trust, convenience, and control.
