Consumers are increasingly asking for convenient, reliable, and transparent repair of Apple devices. Customers find traditional service centres to involve long waiting periods, inconvenient travel, a lack of repair transparency, and expenses they are unwilling to incur. Users are also worried about data security and whether any warranties are provided post-repair.
Black Patch aims to establish an environment of disrupted repair services in Mexico by providing home-based repair services for Apple products through a technician-involved mobile-first approach. This aim was to eliminate frictions in a repair process and create trust among customers who cannot live without their devices.Â
Nevertheless, there were very solid technical and strategic challenges to creating a completely seamless, scalable, and secure experience:
