Hip2Keto, the sister platform of Hip2Save, was developed to facilitate the adoption and maintenance of a healthy ketogenic lifestyle. From simple recipes and meal plans to detailed product reviews and affordable health recommendations, Hip2Keto quickly grew into a well-respected voice within that community of millions.
While the platform certainly had authentic content and amply loyal visitors for it to gain heavy traction, much more than mere recipes was required for Hip2Keto in terms of scalability: a comprehensive, person-aligned digital ecosystem making all aspects of keto living simple, accessible, and rewarding on any type of device.



The Starting Point
As popular as Hip2Keto was among its user base, the digital experience proved to bring challenges of its own :
- Difficulty in Searching Recipes – Users found it challenging to filter recipes on the grounds of macros, prep time, or difficulty.
- Unused Features – None of the meal-planning and HipList features had user-friendly navigation.
- Absence of Native App Experience – Real-time activity was not possible for mobile-first users.
- Backend Inefficiencies – Recipe management, affiliate reviews, and product flows took longer.
- Less Personal – They didn't cater enough to tailoring content to dietary preferences or user history.
These problems made Hip2Keto unable to scale up while at the same time adequately supporting its health-conscious audience.
Our Journey Begins
Hip2 has collaborated with Esferasoft to actualise their vision through a comprehensive redesign of their digital experience. Our work included:
